I have more about this towards the end of this page. Excellent More of a documentation of the Birds of Goa than an identification guide. Her second novel, "The Bird Catcher," is out in paperback from Picador. If you want to read one all the way through, this would be a good choice since there is less to read than most of the other books, and it gives you a good overview. There are several ways to help fund our project within "Support MFBRP".

Most of the book is about the author's top 20 edible weeds, with each weed getting a few pages that include detailed photos and drawings for identification. The first successful pocket guide to bird identification was Bird Guide: Land Birds East of the Rockies by Chester Reed. I found these good choices however I was somewhat confused by hedges and shrublands which are not really a habitat but more of a location within a habitat. I could not find a single notation through out the book.
